Since 2000 this trio has been playing music with a focus on melodic, free improvisation. In 2003 the trio released the debut album Enter where lyrical expression was the center in a collection of both composed and improvised pieces.
After Enter the trio's lyrical expression moved in new directions which for example can be heard on the trio's second release Slowbop (2005) where most of the tracks are based on loose sketches and where the contrasts between the brutal and the beautiful have become more extreme.
Most recently, the trio has moved towards a musical approach with focus on sound collages on the album rla_dg341.1 (2007). Here the free, lyrical expression has been given a more electro-acoustic character. However, Riis/Lysemose/Agha has managed to maintain their most important trademark: the minimalist improvisation and an unusual sense of timbre
In a live situation, the trio's performance is a contrast-filled alternation between composition and improvisation, violence and lyricism, which constantly involved the audience in the creation of new paths for improvised music.
